Broom corn (sorghum vulgate) is a type of sorghum originally used for broom making. It was 1st described in the 1500's in Italy. Benjamin Franklin introduced broom corn in the US in the early 1700's.
It produces heads with beautiful red, black and cranberry toned seed branches that may be up to 36 inches long.
As well as making brooms, it is a beautiful addition to fall decorating in floral arrangements and outdoor decorating.
Available August-October.
